OPEN DISCUSSION OF ELECTED WOMEN PANCHAYATRAJ REPRESENTATIVES WITH M.L.A OF GUNUPUR…

It was a day of great opportunity for the elected women panchayatraj representatives of Ramanaguda block to have interaction with M.L.A of Gunupur block Mr. Raghunath Gamango.

 This programme was arranged jointly by Shakti organisation and ALIVA (A block level federation of elected women panchayat raj representatives) like Sarpanch, Word member, Word Savya of Ramanaguda block at SRDTC (Shakti Research Development Training Centre) Ramanaguda.

Where the members have an open discussion on the issues they have in their villages and panchayats and their problems with the M.L.A. directly. The president Susila Nimala, Secretary Sukanti Huika of ALIVA group presented the memorandum of their demands to Mr.Raghunath Gomango. He also promised to solve it shortly.

Celebration of International Elders Day....

International day of elder persons is celebrated for the senior citizens all across the world to focus on the responsibilities towards their lives. 

1st October 2019 was also celebrated in our Senior citizens Home in a grand manner where District Collector, Senior government officials, Students and teachers of Vignan vidyalaya attended the programme along with staffs of SHAKTI. 

It was a great pleasure that the students performed marvelous cultural programmes which was heart touching. Accompanied with such different programmes , Health camp was also  organised there for our inmates.  District Collector has distributed snacks, towels, T-shirts, foot mats  to all the inmates and a inverter to the Senior Citizen Home.

 A smile on the face of those who always live their life for their children made all the faces cheerful again there......

Visit of Honourable Minister of State to Senior Citizens Home…..

It was a very pleasant moment of our senior citizen home inmates to share some time with the imminent personality Mr.Prafulla Samal, the SSEPD, W&CD and MS Minister of Odisha Govt. During his visit, he interacted with elderly inmates and discussed their wellbeing and feelings. The inmates shared their happiness and facilities about the Senior Citizens Home. He distributed fruits and snacks to the inmates and blessed all-round success of our organisation work.

Kailyaird: Good Supplement to their family diet…

A Kitchen garden ensures an inexpensive, regular and handy supply of fresh vegetables and fruits which are basic to nutrition. The green vegetables contain vitamins and minerals which protect us against several diseases. The tribal people normally depend upon shifting cultivation and use the cultivated cereals in their food. All the people are not able to purchase vegetables for their consumption. Though the cereals are rich in fibre, vitamins etc. which give energy to the body but vegetables are also barely necessary for the body for developing the immunity power.

So, in order to supplement in their food consumption,100 farmers have supported seedlings of Papaya Banana, Drumstick, Small gourd and  1 pocket seeds of Spinach, Cowpea and Ridge gourd under the project " Sustainable Agriculture For Tribal Farmers " supported by Centre for World Solidarity (CWS).

Whatever they will harvest from their kitchen garden, it will be added to their food basket. Each farmer has received the seeds and seedlings with a cheer on his face and with a promise of nurturing the seedlings to develop into plants and using of the vegetables in their fooding.
