The International Day of Older Persons is observed on October 1st
is celebrated in the premises of 'Matrushakti' Senior Citizens' Home,
Rayagada with fan and fare. An event was organised where Mr. Yogendra Agrawal,
Commandant, 3rd battalion BSF attended as Chief Guest. In his speech Mr.
Agrawal told that, Elderly people are full of wisdom, experience and
knowledge and we are fortunate to have them around us in our families and
neighborhood. They motivate us to do better in our lives and also warn us of
the possible dangers we are unaware of. We always approach old people for
guidance and support whenever and wherever possible. Unfortunately,
many times, we tend to ignore or forget them due to our busy life schedules.
Cultural event also organized in
the eve of International Elders Day. All senior Citizens of Matrushakti Senior
Citizens Home actively participated in the event. Superintendent Mr.
Prabhakar Panda along with team co-ordinated the function.
